Powder clutches and brakes are a special type of automated actuator that transmits torque through the magnetic powder that fills the working gap. Changing the magnetic current changes the magnetic state of the powder, which in turn regulates the torque transmitted. It can be used for stepless speed regulation from zero to synchronous speed, and is suitable for fine tuning of high speed section and small and medium power speed regulation system. It is also used in the unwinding or rewinding tension control system that regulates the torque by adjusting the current to ensure that the tension remains constant during the winding process.
